Get eduacated on how that puppy dog print ended up on your Hanes Beefy Tee:)

Winners Circle in Seattle does a good job on showing how manual and somewhat labor-intensive screenprinting a tee shirt really is.

This is a fun vid that does a good job showing a time-lapse with fun music strummin’ along. My fave part is showing the creative process at the beginning. The sign-maker in this video has a rad style that takes dedication and skill.

What it doesn’t show is the crazy problems that arise which you can’t control sometimes such as terrible artwork, bad ai or ps files, someone who doesn’t know that you can’t just print a graphic off of a jpeg, wrong colors, the print was too big, bad film output, low water pressure so you can’t clean off the screens, spills, being off-center, running out of tees/ink/patience, waiting for the flash dryer to warm up, folding, packing and boxing them up.

It is an interesting process, however. I’ve been in a bunch of screenprinting spots during the production process to make sure our own projects were sized correctly or to make sure the graphic placement was proper for BFC, Ethos and other random tee projects. The characters and personalities you meet far outweigh the number of colors you can get onto one tee!

My close pal in Idaho, Jordan, of The Payola Collective and The Damn Rascals Wheeled Squad inspired me to write my own blip on this quick vid. Ya, I also saw this on Hypbeast.

Enjoy, foolios…
