“God’s ways are both puzzling and profound. Usually…at the same time.

Here’s the puzzling part. Why did God require Naaman to dip seven
times in the Jordan? Why did Joshua have to march around the walls of
Jericho? Why was it necessary for Elisha to see Elijah go up to
heaven?

It sounds cumbersome and awkward. Why not just speak the word and be
done with it?

That’s the puzzling part.

Here’s the profound part. God likes partnerships. He invites His
people to be participants in what He is doing. All of this so that a
relationship can be built. We experience God’s power up close.

Look at it this way. You find yourself praying. Waiting. Hoping.
And…you ask why.

Of course…God can – and often does…just speak the word. But…more
often than not He is working with you in ways that will expose you to
His mighty power.

So…don’t fight it. Keep walking around the walls. That way…when they
fall you’ll have a front-row seat.”
